Steinmetz Breast Cancer Letter

Please join the Becker and Steinmetz families along with coworkers and friends of Maureen Steinmetz to help fight in her battle against BREAST CANCER.
Maureen is a Registered Nurse at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children where for over 25 years has cared for critically ill newborns and premature infants..

Until her recent diagnosis she been able to work and continue her hard work and dedicating all her energy in caring for these babies and families. She is also an active member of Saint Martin of Tours Parish where her children also attend the Catholic School. She is the mother of four children, who are having difficulty seeing their Mom struggle as we all are, but they are there for her helping her every step of the way. Her husband Joe is a dedicated Philadelphia Fireman who has been juggling his work schedule to take care his children when Maureen is too ill, runs back and forth getting them to their sporting events, getting them to weekly mass at Church and takes his wife to her cancer treatments. Most importantly for their kids is keeping somewhat of a “normal” schedule for them during this time is helping them to cope.

Maureen has been undergoing extensive chemotherapy since mid-January and over one month ago she spent a few weeks in the hospital with a severe infection causing a delay in her cancer treatments. She travels back and forth to Abington Memorial Hospital Cancer Center for Chemotherapy along with multiple doctors visits and home nursing visits. She administers to herself antibiotics into a special IV that is now has become a part of her treatment plan.

The Steinmetz and Becker Families along with friends and coworkers have come together to hold a benefit in their honor on April 10, 2015 at Paddy Whacks Sports Bar, located at 9241-43 Roosevelt Bvld (at Welsh Rd) Philadelphia, PA.,19114 from 8 pm – 11pm.

Our goal for Maureen, Joe and their children is to ease their worries of a lost income and increasing medical bills and additional expenses that will be required for Maureen’s treatment.

Please join their families and friends in helping with a donation, a gift basket to be raffled off at the benefit or even a gift card. Anything at all will be greatly appreciated!
